Printed on plain, high-quality photographic paper. Must be 50x70mm with head measuring 31-36mm from chin to crown. Cut the photo to exactly 50 x 70 mm (2.0" x 2.8") — any deviation beyond 0.5 mm can trigger rejection.

A standard 4x6 inch (10x15 cm) print sheet holds 3 photos at this size — a cost-effective option at any photo kiosk or home printer. Leave a small margin between cuts.

The background must be White or light-colored background and completely uniform — any gradients, shadows, or patterns are grounds for rejection.

Canadian passport photos require a guarantor signature on the back. Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, and Walmart photo centres offer compliant passport photos.

Submit the printed Citizenship photo with your application documents. Confirm with the issuing authority whether they accept a single photo or require duplicates.

Photo recency requirement: Must be taken within the last 12 months.
