Printed on plain, high-quality photographic paper. Must be 50x70mm with head measuring 31-36mm from chin to crown. Cut the photo to exactly 35 x 45 mm (1.4" x 1.8") — any deviation beyond 0.5 mm can trigger rejection.

A standard 4x6 inch (10x15 cm) print sheet holds 8 photos at this size — a cost-effective option at any photo kiosk or home printer. Leave a small margin between cuts.

The background must be White or light-colored background and completely uniform — any gradients, shadows, or patterns are grounds for rejection.

Canadian passport photos require a guarantor signature on the back. Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, and Walmart photo centres offer compliant passport photos.

Attach printed Visa photos securely to your visa application form. Some Canada consulates require photos to be affixed with adhesive on the back — avoid staples which can damage the print.

Photo recency requirement: Must be taken within the last 12 months.
