Privacy Policy

Introduction
At MergeImages.net, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services. By using MergeImages.net, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Images You Upload
Important: How your images are handled depends on which tool you use. Our client-side tools process everything directly in your browser, so those images never leave your device: image merge, photo collage, meme generator, add text to image, profile picture maker, blur, the canvas filters, the format converters and the SVG converters. We check this by recording every network request a tool makes while it runs, download step included, rather than only asserting it. Our AI tools (AI upscaler, background remover, object remover, AI headshot and passport photo maker) must transmit your image to our processing servers and the AI providers that power them; those images are deleted automatically within 7 days and are not used for any other purpose. Three of those client-side tools carry an optional button that does send a file: the image merge and the profile picture maker offer Remove Background, which is an AI action and uploads that one image on the same terms as the AI tools above, and the SVG viewer offers Share, which uploads that one SVG so we can host it at a link you can send to other people. Nothing is uploaded unless you press one of those buttons. This means:
- Client-side tools: images stay on your device and are never uploaded, so we never see, store, or have access to them
- Client-side tools: when you pick a file from your device, no image data is transmitted over the internet, and all image data is cleared once you close the browser
- Optional buttons inside client-side tools: Remove Background on the image merge and the profile picture maker uploads that one image, and Share in the SVG viewer uploads that one SVG, in both cases only when you press it
- Loading an image by link: if you paste a URL instead of choosing a file, we send that link, not a file from your device, to our server so it can fetch the image for you
- AI tools: your image is transmitted to our processing servers and AI providers solely to perform the requested operation
- AI tools: images are deleted automatically within 7 days and are never sold, shared for advertising, or used to train models
- Safety check: before an image is processed, a small automatic check runs inside your browser to decline sexually explicit images. It runs entirely on your device, sends no image data anywhere, and stores no record of the result
Analytics and Session Recording
We use three analytics tools, and they load on every page: Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager), PostHog, and OpenPanel. PostHog and OpenPanel run on our own servers and are served from mergeimages.net addresses, so browser tracking blockers do not reliably stop them. PostHog also records browsing sessions. Together these may collect:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring website
- Pages visited and time spent
- Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- A recording of your visit made by PostHog: pages viewed, mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, text you type into the page, the canvas content the image tools produce, browser console output, and the network requests the page makes
- Session recording is on for every visit. We do not record only a sample of visits
Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies on MergeImages.net. Essential cookies keep the site working and protect it from abuse: they carry your language choice, an anonymous id that ties a result you generate back to your browser, and Cloudflare's record that your browser passed a bot check. MergeImages.net has no accounts and no sign-in, so there is no login cookie. For analytics we use Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager, plus PostHog and OpenPanel, which we host ourselves. PostHog also records browsing sessions, as described above. We use Grow by Mediavine for the reader features listed under Third-Party Services. We do not show advertising and we set no advertising cookies. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and our Cookie Policy lists the individual cookies.
How We Use Your Information
The limited information we collect is used to:
- Improve and optimize our website
- Understand user behavior and preferences
- Diagnose technical issues
- Analyze traffic patterns
- Enforce our acceptable-use rules, including restrictions on pornography, obscene, indecent, or otherwise objectionable content
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics 4: Website analytics and traffic analysis, measurement id G-2MNM8W6V5T
- Google Tag Manager: Loads and manages the Google tags on the site, container GTM-K2XNLFNW
- PostHog: Product analytics and session recording, hosted on our own servers
- OpenPanel: Usage analytics, hosted on our own servers
- Grow by Mediavine: Reader features, namely saved items, the subscribe prompt, and content recommendations. Its advertising product is not enabled for this site
- GlitchTip: Error tracking, hosted on our own servers. It receives a report when the site throws an error in your browser
- Cloudflare: Serves and protects the site, runs the bot check on our tools, and measures page performance
PostHog, OpenPanel, and GlitchTip run on servers we control. Google, Mediavine, and Cloudflare are outside companies that hold the data they receive under their own privacy policies, and we recommend reviewing them.
Advertising
MergeImages.net does not show advertising. Google AdSense was removed on August 9, 2026, and no ad network serves ads on this site. We use Grow by Mediavine for the reader features listed under Third-Party Services; its advertising product is not enabled for this site, so no ad is served and no advertising cookie is set. If we start showing ads, we will update this policy before they go live. Mediavine holds the data Grow collects under its own terms:
- Mediavine legal and privacy center: https://www.mediavine.com/legal-and-privacy-center/
Because no ad network serves on MergeImages.net, the advertising industry opt-out tools do not apply to this site. We removed the links to them rather than leave controls on this page that have no effect here.
Data Security
Our client-side tools keep your images on your device, and images sent to our AI tools are deleted within 7 days, so the content we hold is limited and short-lived. We do hold analytics data and session recordings, described above. Our website uses HTTPS encryption to protect all data transmitted between your browser and our servers.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Decline in our cookie banner. That sets Google Consent Mode to denied, so Google Analytics stops setting cookies. Google still receives a cookieless measurement ping, and declining does not stop PostHog or OpenPanel, which run on the legitimate interest basis
- Use a browser tracking blocker to stop Google Analytics. PostHog and OpenPanel are served from mergeimages.net addresses, so a blocker does not reliably stop them
- Request information about data we may have collected
- Request deletion of any personal data we hold, including session recordings
- Ask us to stop recording your sessions
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know what personal data is collected, used, and shared
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information
- Right to request deletion of personal information we hold about you
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
To exercise any of these rights, or to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, contact us at [email protected].

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.
