Japan Visa 45x45mm Photo

High-quality photo paper. Face must be 27mm (+/- 2mm) from chin to top of head. Head centered in frame. Cut the photo to exactly 45 x 45 mm (1.8" x 1.8") — any deviation beyond 0.5 mm can trigger rejection.

A standard 4x6 inch (10x15 cm) print sheet holds 6 photos at this size — a cost-effective option at any photo kiosk or home printer. Leave a small margin between cuts.

The background must be White or very light background with no shadows or patterns and completely uniform — any gradients, shadows, or patterns are grounds for rejection.

Japanese passport photos have strict face size requirements (27mm +/- 2mm from chin to crown). Many convenience stores (konbini) have ID photo machines that automatically comply with these standards.

Attach printed Visa 45x45mm photos securely to your visa application form. Some Japan consulates require photos to be affixed with adhesive on the back — avoid staples which can damage the print.

Photo recency requirement: Must be taken within the last 6 months.
