Printed on professional photo paper. Head must be 29-34mm from chin to crown. For digital submission, 600-6000 pixels wide. Cut the photo to exactly 35 x 45 mm (1.4" x 1.8") — any deviation beyond 0.5 mm can trigger rejection.

A standard 4x6 inch (10x15 cm) print sheet holds 8 photos at this size — a cost-effective option at any photo kiosk or home printer. Leave a small margin between cuts.

The background must be Plain light grey or cream background (not white) and completely uniform — any gradients, shadows, or patterns are grounds for rejection.

UK passport applications through GOV.UK accept digital photos from your phone. The photo checker tool on the website will validate your photo before submission. Boots and Snappy Snaps also offer printed passport photos.

Attach printed Visa photos securely to your visa application form. Some United Kingdom consulates require photos to be affixed with adhesive on the back — avoid staples which can damage the print.

Photo recency requirement: Must be taken within the last month for online applications.
