DV Lottery Photo FAQ

What are the exact DV Lottery photo requirements?
The photo must be 600x600 pixels (minimum), JPEG format, under 240KB, with a white background. Head must occupy 50-69% of the image height, and eyes must be positioned 56-69% from the bottom.
Can I wear glasses in my DV Lottery photo?
No. Since November 2016, the U.S. Department of State does not accept photos with glasses for any visa application, including the DV Lottery. This applies even if you wear prescription glasses.
Will a rejected photo disqualify my DV Lottery entry?
Yes. If your photo does not meet the requirements, your entire DV Lottery entry will be disqualified. The system performs automated checks on photo dimensions, file size, and format.
Can I use a phone to take my DV Lottery photo?
