Printed on photo-quality paper at exactly 2x2 inches (51x51mm). Head must be 1-1.375 inches (25-35mm) from chin to top of head. Cut the photo to exactly 51 x 51 mm (2.0" x 2.0") — any deviation beyond 0.5 mm can trigger rejection.

A standard 4x6 inch (10x15 cm) print sheet holds 2 photos at this size — a cost-effective option at any photo kiosk or home printer. Leave a small margin between cuts.

The background must be Plain white or off-white background and completely uniform — any gradients, shadows, or patterns are grounds for rejection.

US passport photos can be taken at CVS, Walgreens, USPS, and Walmart for $10-$15. For online renewal through travel.state.gov, you can upload a digital photo — use our tool to create one for free.

Attach printed Visa photos securely to your visa application form. Some United States consulates require photos to be affixed with adhesive on the back — avoid staples which can damage the print.

Photo recency requirement: Must be taken within the last 6 months.
