Color photo on smooth, matte finish paper. 26x32mm for DNI/passport (smaller than ICAO standard). Cut the photo to exactly 26 x 32 mm (1.0" x 1.3") — any deviation beyond 0.5 mm can trigger rejection.

A standard 4x6 inch (10x15 cm) print sheet holds 15 photos at this size — a cost-effective option at any photo kiosk or home printer. Leave a small margin between cuts.

The background must be White or very light grey background and completely uniform — any gradients, shadows, or patterns are grounds for rejection.

Spain uses a smaller photo format (26x32mm) for DNI and passport, unlike the standard 35x45mm used in most European countries. Visa photos use the standard 35x45mm.

Spain passport applications typically require you to submit printed photos with your application form at a passport office, post office, or consulate. Bring 2 copies unless the application form specifies otherwise.

Photo recency requirement: Must be taken within the last 6 months.
