Resize Photo for JEE Main (NTA)

Uploading a photo that does not meet the exact specifications is one of the most common reasons for JEE Main (NTA) application rejection. The portal enforces both pixel dimensions and file size simultaneously, so your image must satisfy both constraints at once.

This tool handles the full process in three steps: it resizes your photo to the required pixel dimensions using center-crop (Cover mode) or letterbox (Fit mode), then uses a binary-search compression algorithm to find the highest JPEG quality that keeps the file within the 10–200 KB range. If your photo is already very small, the tool pads the file using a standard JPEG comment segment so it meets the minimum KB requirement without altering any pixels.

All processing runs entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your photo is never transmitted to any server. This matters for sensitive ID documents: you retain full control of your biometric data.
