Malaysia Passport-Foto

Photo paper, 35x50mm (taller than standard). Blue background for MyKad, white for passport. Cut the photo to exactly 35 x 50 mm (1.4" x 2.0") — any deviation beyond 0.5 mm can trigger rejection.

A standard 4x6 inch (10x15 cm) print sheet holds 8 photos at this size — a cost-effective option at any photo kiosk or home printer. Leave a small margin between cuts.

The background must be Blue background for MyKad; white background for passport and completely uniform — any gradients, shadows, or patterns are grounds for rejection.

Malaysia uses 35x50mm photos (taller than the ICAO standard 35x45mm). MyKad photos require a blue background while passport photos require white.

Malaysia passport applications typically require you to submit printed photos with your application form at a passport office, post office, or consulate. Bring 2 copies unless the application form specifies otherwise.

Photo recency requirement: Must be taken within the last 6 months.
